Your Safety, Comfort Is Our Priority, OBALGA SOLAD Tells Corpers During Lodge Inspection

In a way of showing his concern for the well-being of corps members posted to Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, the Sole Administrator, Dr. Clifford Ndu Walter, paid a special inspection visit to the corpers lodge.

During the visit on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, Walter assessed the state of the facility and interacted with corps members to understand their needs.

The OBALGA administrator took a tour of the lodge facilities including the rooms, water supply systems, and sanitation units while taking note of areas that required immediate attention.

During an interactive session with the Local Government Inspector (LGI), Mr. Odo Abei, and some of the corps members present, key challenges were highlighted, ranging from inadequate bedding and furniture to the need for improved security and lighting within the lodge premises.

Responding to these concerns, Walter assured the corps members of the council’s commitment to their comfort and safety, promising swift intervention to address the gaps.

He emphasized that the local government sees corps members not just as guests, but as valued contributors to the development of the area.

“This is your home for the next year, and it is our duty to ensure it feels like one. Your safety, comfort, and productivity matter deeply to us.”

Abei who spoke on behalf of the corps members thanked the administrator for his leadership style, describing him as a “hands-on, accessible, and compassionate leader.”

He also commended the administrator’s willingness to engage directly with the youth and pledged that corps members would uphold high standards of conduct and community service.

Further, some corps members expressed the hope that their stay in Obio/Akpor would be marked by care, support, and meaningful impact.
