Ag. Director of Audit Warns NYSC Members in Rivers Against Cutting Corners

The Acting Director, Internal Audit of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja, Dr. Levi Okechukwu Agim, has enjoined corps members posted to Rivers State to avoid cutting corners.

Agim charged them to participate actively in the four cardinal programmes of the scheme, noting that they must be seen to be persons of integrity and transparent honesty at all times.

He urged the corps member to deepen their patriotism to Nigeria’s greatness and contribute selflessly to the unity and integration in the country.

The Acting Director gave the charge on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai when he addressed the 2025 Batch A Stream I Corps Members deployed to the State.

He informed them that the NYSC scheme since its establishment has continued to offer corps members a “veritable platform to grow, develop and achieve their lifelong dreams.”

Agim charged the corpers to make good use of most of the opportunities provided by the scheme for self development and growth.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, had praised the corps members before the Acting Director as “well-behaved and disciplined.”

He expressed optimism that with the enthusiasm and commitment to SAED training, they will rebuild Nigeria’s economic fortune in the nearest future.”

Speaking further, Oleghe noted that the camp is well lit with over 250 new solar lights installed, amongst other successes recorded by his administration in the last 6 months.

The NYSC boss also expressed worry over the high cost of foodstuffs and camp maintenance in the State.

The corps members entertained the acting director with a cultural presentation by the NYSC cultural dance troupe, as well as the Man ‘O’ War special squad performance.

    What exactly does he mean by that? Is the government patriotic? If they were patriotic, they would manage inflation, improve the economy, obey the courts and quit rigging elections!!!
