NPFL Bans Lobi Stars Media Director Over Match Fixing Allegations

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board has imposed a ban on Lobi Stars’ Media Director, Emmanuel Ujah, prohibiting him from participating in any football-related activities within the league due to unguarded remarks.

The league indicated: “Emmanuel Ujah, the media director of Lobi Stars, has been charged with violating the NPFL Framework & Rules due to his inappropriate statement.

“Ujah acknowledged that he mistakenly gave an interview and has committed to improving his behavior in the future.

“He admitted that he lacked evidence for his match-fixing claims after he made such allegations during the interview.

“The media director of Lobi Stars expressed regret over his comments, stating that his emotional state influenced the serious allegations he made.

“After conducting an investigation into the situation, Ujah has been banned indefinitely from all NPFL activities.

“He is required to submit a written apology and withdraw the match-fixing claims.

“Some of the matters and issues raised by Ujah have been recommended for further investigation by Lobi Stars’ management in collaboration with the NPFL.”
