Rivers Angels Set to Defend WPFC Title In Aba

Excitement is building in the Rivers State capital as the spotlight is firmly on defending champions, Rivers Angels. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) today announced the venues and dates for the Round of 16 fixtures of the Women’s President’s Federation Cup.

The Jewels of Rivers will continue their quest to retain the coveted title when they face First Mahi Babes in a highly anticipated encounter scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at the Enyimba Stadium in neighboring Aba. This fixture promises a fierce contest as the reigning champions aim to progress further in the prestigious national competition.

Rivers Angels will be looking to put on a commanding performance against First Mahi Babes. Supporters are expected to travel in numbers to Aba to cheer on their beloved team as they navigate this crucial stage of the Federation Cup.

The NFF’s announcement also detailed other Round of 16 matches set to take place on the same day across various locations. These include Nasarawa Amazons versus Bayelsa Queens in Awka, Delta Queens against Ibom Angels in Enugu, Remo Stars versus Dannaz Ladies in Ibadan, Onimarg against Heartland Queens in Benin City, Osun United versus Confluence Queens also in Benin City, Osun Babes versus Edo Queens in Lagos, and Mighty Jets Mata versus Unification FC in Anyigba.

Further information regarding the precise kick-off time for the Rivers Angels’ fixture, as well as other matches, is expected to be released by the NFF in due course.

As the date approaches, anticipation within the Rivers State football community is palpable.
