Political Analyst Alleges Rivers Sole Administrator Carrying Instructions From Presidency

A Public Affairs analyst, Mr. Jackson Lekan-Ojo, says the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas, should not be blamed for his action so far, noting he is only carrying out instructions from the Presidency.

Speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt, Mr. Lekan-Ojo emphasized that the list of local government administrators recently made public must have been compiled by some persons in the Presidency with the
directive that it must be implemented.

Mr. Lekan-Ojo, who explained that it would have been insubordination on the part of retired Vice Admiral Ibas to disobey the power that appointed him, however, questioned the rationale behind releasing funds meant for Rivers state against the directive of the Supreme Court.

While emphasizing that the Sole Administrator has done nothing wrong, Mr. Lekan-Ojo said instead of complaining about his actions, those aggrieved should channel their anger to President Bola Tinubu, on whose
directives retired Vice Admiral Ibas is acting.
