NBC Restricts Media Houses From Playing Song “Seyi Tell Your Papa”

Eedris Abdulkareem’s song has been banned by The National Broadcasting Commission from being played by any media house.

The song “Seyi Tell Your Papa” is the latest release of the veteran rap star who is known for singing renowned songs that resonate with Nigerians because they address the realities that the common man faces.

The song specifically criticizes the current administration and sends a clear message to the son of the president to talk to his father about the hardship that people have been going through since he became the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It is indeed refreshing to hear a song that addresses the condition of things in Nigeria as opposed to songs about love, drugs, sex, and money, which ninety-nine percent of current musicians in the country seem to be pushing to their audience.

In the song Tell Your Papa, Edris Abdulkareem sings, “Seyi, tell your papa country hard. Tell your papa people dey die. Tell your papa this one don pass jagajaga.”

“Seyi, how far? I swear your papa no try. Too many empty promises. On behalf of Nigerians, take our message to him: kidnappers dey kill Nigerians.

“Seyi, try traveling by road without your security, make you feel the pains of fellow Nigerians. You dey fly private jets, insecurity no be your problem,” he sang.

Perhaps the president will act promptly if the news of the sufferings of Nigerians comes from his son’s mouth, but while we wait to see if Seyi will actually tell his dad anything, read the official circular that was released by the National Broadcasting Commission below.
