After attaining the canonical age of retirement, the Holy Father Pope Francis has accepted the retirement of the Catholic Bishop of Port Harcourt, Most Revered Camillus Etokudoh.
The Pope’s message was conveyed to the faithful by the Vatican Ambassador to Nigeria, Archbishop Michael Francis-Crotty, who is currently on a pastoral visit to Port Harcourt. The Pope also appointed the Auxiliary Bishop of Port Harcourt, Most Rev. Dr. Patrick Eluke, to serve as the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese..
While addressing the Faithful, Archbishop Michael-Crottty urged them to remain peaceful and continue to pray for the intervention of the Holy Spirit for the appointment of a new Bishop for the Diocese.
