Junior Pope’s Wife Shares Heartfelt Tribute One Year Later

Jennifer Awele, the widow of the late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, has penned a heartfelt tribute to commemorate the first anniversary of his tragic passing.

Awele posted on her Instagram account on Thursday.

In her heartfelt tribute, Awele reflected on the past year as incredibly challenging, stating that not a single day has passed without memories of her deceased husband.

She wrote, “It’s been one year of standing in the face of our unimaginable loss, and not a day has gone by without a thought of you. Your love envelops us, your laughter resonates in our hearts, and we feel your presence in those quiet times when we miss you the most.”

She explained that staying strong has been a struggle, especially when everything around them appears to be crumbling.

“You cannot imagine how hard it has been to remain resilient for one another while the world around us seems to be disintegrating. The grief is heavy, and the void your absence has created cannot be filled with words; yet, through it all, we seek strength from above as a guiding light,” she continued.

Awele noted that the pain has taught them to take life one day at a time, saying, “Oh, death, you have shown us the importance of living each day as it comes, one step at a time, while bearing a pain so profound that it may never leave.”

She also revealed the heartrending questions their children have posed to her.

“I still struggle to find the right words to explain to Jason and Jaden why Daddy won’t be able to keep his promise of taking them to a proper football academy and attending their first official match. They remembered him saying, ‘Daddy promised he wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world.’ Then the youngest one, Jamon (J papa fondly called by Daddy), keeps asking when Daddy will bring him the big toy car he promised.”

She conveyed her appreciation to those who have supported them during their time of grief.

Jennifer concluded her tribute with a profound message to Junior Pope, emphasizing that he is missed by many and that his legacy will endure.

“To our dear one, you did not just leave your family but also countless others who cherished you and your work. It is incredibly difficult and surreal to express these words, but continue to rest in the embrace of the Almighty. You will always remain in our hearts and thoughts, and your memories and legacy will endure forever.

“Although you are no longer with us, you continue to exist in every memory, every smile, and every tear. We will carry you with us throughout until we meet again. We cannot question God, can we? May Your Soul Rest in Perfect Peace, My Love,” Awele expressed.
