As part of activities marking the maiden edition of National Police Day, the Rivers State Police Command embarked on a community service sanitation exercise at Creek Road Market, Azikiwe Road, Mile 1 Park, in Port Harcourt.

Leading the exercise, Commissioner of Police CP Olugbenga Adepoju, reaffirmed the commitment of the command to fostering a stronger relationship with the public. He emphasized that the Police is a friend of the people and is always open to collaboration and dialogue.

“We are showcasing ourselves to the public, building trust and confidence. We want people to know that we are not just officers in uniform but members of society who care about their welfare,” CP Adepoju said.

He noted that the sanitation exercise was aimed at demonstrating the human side of the Police Force and encouraging synergy with the community beyond crime prevention and law enforcement.

“We are sweeping and cleaning areas we feel are dirty to let the people know that we are not only about policing but also community service. We are part of the society and share the same experiences.”
