In commemoration of the 2025 National Police Day, the Rivers State Police command has organized a free medical outreach, community engagement, and sensitization activities.
This was made known to newsmen on Thursday, April 3, as the State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga A. Adepoju, led personnel of the Rivers State Police Command to observe the 2025 National Police Day celebration.
The celebration is in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The event will feature a series of activities aimed at fostering better relations between the police and members of the public.
Revealing some of the activities, Adepoju noted that “there will be free medical/healthcare services for the less privileged in the various communities on Thursday, 3rd April 2025.

“Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to check their health status.
“There will be a critical interactive session between the police and key stakeholders at the Police Officers’ Mess, Old GRA Port-Harcourt by 10:00 am providing an opportunity for dialogue after which prayers will be observed at the Mopol 19 Mosque, Aba road Port- Harcourt in the afternoon as part of the activities marking the event.
“There will be a clean-up/sanitation exercise emphasizing the importance of clean and safe environment for all, while encouraging residents to manage refuses properly on Saturday, April 5.
“On Sunday, the event will be rounded off with church services where prayers will be offered aimed at reflecting on the values of sacrifice, service, and dedication that define the Police profession and raising awareness/consciousness on safety measures for members of the public.
“Stakeholders will be engaged to strengthen trust and mutual cooperation between the Police and local communities.”
The CP added that “this year’s theme highlights the vital role played by the police in maintaining peace and security in our society and underscores the commitment of the Rivers State Police Command to work closely with all stakeholders to build safer environments for all.”
