The whole of Turkey was on stand still when as two of its most decorated teams fernerbahce and Galatasaray went head to head in their League Cup, as expected there was enough ecstacy for coursing through the body of viewers as both team gave a show from start till the final whistle in a game that saw 10 yellow cards and 4 red cards, half of each colour being shared equally by both teams with Portuguese Legendary coach, Jose Mourinho being one of those that was sent off for cynically poking the nose of his Junior colleague Okan Buruk, after what seemed like a heated exchange from both managers.
It seems like this time, the Portuguese coach may be spending a longer time on the sideline, with a hefty fine on the way after he physically attacked a fellow manager, as seen in pictures.
It was a fiery Derby indeed, reminding us of encounters between Sharks FC vs Dolphins and Heartland vs Enyimba where there was no shortage of drama (the indomie generation will not relate).
What actually caught our attention was the performance of Super Eagles’ Mask man Victor Osimhen whose goals in the 10th and 27th minute gave Galatasaray a comfortable lead until the 45+2nd minute of the game when winger, Szymanski pulled one backed for the home team.

Despite the intensity and tempo of the game, it looked as if there would be more goals but it was not to be as both team couldn’t manage to add to the score-line, ensuring that the game was decided by the first half score.
The Nigerian striker is on fire; he scored 28 goals and recorded 5 assists in all competitions this season, and most of these goals were decisive strikes that saw his team get valid points.
During the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Kigali, we saw Galatasaray fans travel all the way from Turkey to Rwanda to show support to their star player, a star player whose arrival has been a love affair between player and fans, with the fans praying and hoping that the Nigerian would decide to stay commit his future to Galatasaray for longer period after the expiration of his loan deal from Napoli.
With Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus courting the player, one begins to imagine how the Turkish Champions would be able to convince the player to stay when the offer of Champions League football and a massive pay-cheque is on the table, something that Galatasaray can never match but who knows, because I’m football you can nbwr say never.
We have seen players move from clubs where they were idolized to a rival team in a show of lack of loyalty, as well as players who gave up money and consistent trophy winning career by chosing to remain in their parents team, recall that Steven Gerrard rejected Real Madrid on many occasion, as well as English rivals Chelsea even though it meant retiring without winning the Premier league, so anything can happen with the future of the Nigerian striker as no one knows who would win the race for his signature, perhaps, his parent club Napoli may decide to recall him and settle their differences but whatever the case may be whomsoever manages to get him will be getting a machine in human form.
On a scale of 1-10, how good do you think Victor Osimhen?
