Indigenes of the Niger Delta region have expressed. preparedness to support practices that would protect crude oil pipelines. They made this known at a Stakeholders meeting in Port Harcourt. The forum which was put together by the Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, PINL, created an enabling environment for interaction between people of the oil producing areas and the surveillance Agency.
While assuring that their Communities will protect the pipeline, the Paramount ruler of Kpite, Tai Local Government Area in Rivers State, King Samuel Nne, and the representative of Ekpeye Kingdom, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr. Patricia Ogbonnaya, called for more concessions.

National President Movement for the Survival of Izon ethnic nationality in the Niger Delta, Dr. Kennedy West and the Traditional Prime Minister, Asa Community, Abia state, Chief Chukwu Jonathan, want the Petroleum Industry Act to be put in place in oil bearing Communities.
Community Relations Consultant, PINL, Dr. Akpos Mezeh, explained that the Agency has built facilities for portable water in Asarama Community, Andoni Local Government Area, Rivers State, amongst other interventions, also maintained that the support of stakeholders is important to safeguard the lives and economy of the people.
The meeting was attended by Traditional leaders, youths and women.
