The Rivers State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps NYSC, Mr. Moses Oleghe, has charged outgoing corps members not to wait for white collar jobs.
Oleghe gave this charge on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the passing-out parade of the 2225 Batch A Stream 11 Corps Members, made up of 973 males and 1252 females.
Speaking during the low-key passing out ceremony held at Isaac Boro Park, the coordinator charged the corpers to actively engage their hands with the skill acquired from the NYSC SAED training.
He urged them not to despise humble beginnings, emphasizing that all the big players in the world economy started small, hence, they must tow the line of humble beginning.
Oleghe decried the high rate of drug abuse in the society and charged them not to ruin their future by indulging in the abuse of drugs.
The NYSC State corps enjoined the outgoing corps members to promote discipline, integrity, high moral standards, honesty, and hard work as they climb the ladder of life, having imbibed the above virtues imparted in them as the core values of the NYSC scheme.
The passing-out ceremony was monitored by Mr. Ajayi Adeniyi from the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.
A highlight of the event was the symbolic presentation of the Certificate of National Service to 2 deserving Corps Members by the State Coordinator.
