Elders Of Rivers State led by former governor Chief Rufus Ada George, condemned the recent suspension of the governor, his deputy, and all Assembly members in a press held recently. He called the action taken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against democratically elected individuals “unfair, unjust, and unconstitutional”
The elders asked about the whereabouts of the governor as no one had seen him since the declaration of the state of emergency and the installation of a sole administrator on Tuesday the 18th of March 2025.
Recall that a supposed circular was released online, which was alleged to have come from the governor asking the people to be calm at this time and not get involved in anything that would escalate the situation any further. One of the elders, Sara-Igbe to be precise seems to be more direct in his statement as he called out the Minister of FCT, questioning his role in the governor’s lack of public appearance, demanding that the governor comes on TV to prove that he is alive. In his words, “The whereabouts of Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State is unknown.
He has not spoken to anybody and we have not seen him, we are demanding that Fubara should come on television if he is alive, because we can observe that Nyesom Wike can go any length and Mr. President is backing him up; he can do anything to this young man.
Rivers people demand to know his whereabout and to know what is happening to him.” he said.
His statement and body language as seen in the video clearly paints Bar. Nyesom Wike as suspect if anything bad should happen to the governor or his family.
