The race for the 2026 FIFA World Cup becomes more intense as the Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium to sit uncomfortably in 4th place, with 4 points behind group leaders South Africa, having played 5 matches and recording just one victory they must perform a miracle.
A brace from Super eagle’s deadly striker Victor Osimhen ensured that the Super Eagles did not lose sight of the top, though their chances are slim there is still hope that they would qualify if not as winners of the group, they would get a chance of clinching the best runner up position which would make them eligible for a playoff round with teams from other continent but fans are hoping they wouldn’t go that length as payoffs are not an easy cake to bite.
The 2026 Fifa World Cup will be the first time in history that three countries will jointly host the tournament and With 5 matches remaining the Super Eagles of Nigeria must win all of their remaining games if they must grace the finals that will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
