PHCCIMA, Landmark Africa Join Forces to Revamp Port Harcourt Tourist Beach

The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has entered a strategic partnership with Landmark Africa Group to transform the city’s Tourist Beach into a world-class destination.

On March 12, 2025, Landmark Africa CEO Paul Onwuanibe met with PHCCIMA’s first female president, Chinyere Nwoga, to discuss the project’s framework. This collaboration aligns with Governor Sim Fubara’s vision to drive economic recovery in Rivers State through tourism and entertainment.

Fubara previously announced plans to restore the once-thriving Tourist Beach, positioning Port Harcourt as a major investment and leisure hub. Landmark Africa, which secured the redevelopment contract, seeks to integrate local businesses into the project’s execution and operations.

During the meeting, Onwuanibe presented detailed plans and visuals, emphasizing the project’s potential to attract investors and create jobs. He urged PHCCIMA and other private sector players to participate actively in shaping its success. Beyond construction, he assured that PHCCIMA members would play key roles in the supply chain and service operations once the beach becomes operational.

Nwoga welcomed the initiative, stressing that PHCCIMA members must remain central to the redevelopment process. She reaffirmed the Chamber’s role as Nigeria’s second-largest business organization, committed to fostering a thriving business ecosystem.

In a show of commitment, Onwuanibe officially joined PHCCIMA, strengthening the alliance between the business community and the project developers. He also pledged to return for an interactive session with Chamber members to deepen engagement.

The Tourist Beach redevelopment promises to redefine Port Harcourt’s tourism landscape, attract investors, and boost the local economy. As construction plans take shape, stakeholders are optimistic about the project’s long-term impact on Rivers State’s business and leisure sectors.
