NDDC Empowers Over 1,000 Youths and Women Through Skill Acquisition Training

Over one thousand youths and women are undergoing training in various skills under the Niger Delta Skill Acquisition Program in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The programme organized by Victoria Prayer Network in conjunction with Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC was aimed at empowering youths and women with practical skills to enable them to become self-reliant and contribute to the region’s development.

The facilitator of the training, Evangelist Victoria Ebi commended NDDC for their support, stating that their partnership was crucial to the success of the programme.

Director of Skills Development, NDDC Mrs Lyna Okara explained that NDDC has been actively involved in various initiatives aimed at developing the Niger Delta region with a focus on skills acquisition and entrepreneurship.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the organizers while noting that the skills they acquired would not only improve their livelihoods but also enable them to become entrepreneurs and job creators.

They appealed to the government to provide them with starter kits at the end of the training to help them kick start their own business.
The trainees are being trained in skills such as tailoring, catering, shoe making, English hat making, tie and dye, video coverage, ICT, soap making, body spray, hair dressing, barbing and electrical.
