Rivers State University Gets New Vice Chancellor

Professor Isaac Zeb-obipi has emerged as the new Vice Chancellor of the Prestigious Rivers State University.

Professor Zeb-Obipi is a distinguished academic and administrator who has made significant contributions to the field of management sciences. Born in Ogoloma, Rivers State, Nigeria, Professor Zeb-Obipi has had a long and illustrious career at the University, spanning over two decades.

Professor Zeb-Obipi’s academic journey at the University began in 1997 when he was appointed as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Management, Faculty of Management Sciences. Over the years, he has risen through the ranks, earning promotions and taking on various leadership roles within the University.

As a renowned expert in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, Professor Zeb-Obipi has taught and mentored numerous students, inspiring them to become leaders in their respective fields. His research interests and publications have focused on organizational development, leadership, and human resource management, contributing significantly to the body of knowledge in these areas.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Professor Zeb-Obipi has demonstrated exceptional leadership and administrative skills, holding various offices within the University. He has served as Departmental and Faculty Exams and Record Officer, Faculty Sub-Dean, Head of Department, Dean of Student Affairs, and President of the Senior Staff Club. His most recent appointment was as a Member of the 12th University Governing Council, a testament to his reputation as a trusted and respected academic leader.

On a personal note, Professor Zeb-Obipi is married to Mrs. Victoria Zeb-Obipi, and they are blessed with two children, Diepiriye and Nengi. Despite his many responsibilities and accomplishments, Professor Zeb-Obipi remains committed to his family and community, exemplifying the values of a true leader and role model.

Currently, Professor Zeb-Obipi serves as the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Centre of the University, where he oversees the development and implementation of ICT initiatives across the institution. His vision and leadership in this role have been instrumental in enhancing the University’s ICT infrastructure and promoting digital literacy among students and staff.

Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Zeb-Obipi has demonstrated a passion for teaching, research, and service, earning him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and students. His contributions to the University and the broader academic community have been significant, and his legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations of scholars and leaders.
