Andoni Council Flags Off Road Construction to Boost Rural Economy

The construction of an internal road linking Unyeada, Egendem, and Asarama in the Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State has been described as a means to boost the economy of rural dwellers in the area.
 
Speaker, of Rivers State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Oko-Jumbo while flagging off the construction of the 3 kilometers road, said Andoni people are known for fishing, and hence the need for easy accessibility to other parts of the State for exchange of goods and services.
 

The speaker who commended the Andoni Local Government Area chairman, Mr. Lazarus Nteogwuile for embarking on people-oriented projects, enjoined the people to give their maximum support to the council chairman to enable his administration to succeed.

In his speech, the chairman of Andoni Local Government Area Mr. Lazarus Nteogwuile said the flag off of the construction of the road was part of the activities to mark his one hundred days in office.
 
The Andoni council boss, while assuring the people of the area that the construction of the road will be done in the next six months, revealed that the area will witness more people-oriented projects in the coming months.
 
Mr. Nteogwuile appreciated the governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, whom he described as an exemplary leader for always having the interest of the Andoni people at heart.
 
Our Correspondent reports that the event was attended by dignitaries including the former Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Mr. Adams Dabotorudima among others.
