Renowned for championing the rights of the Niger Delta, Clark built an illustrious career as a lawyer, administrator, nationalist, and freedom fighter. He served actively as Commissioner for Education in the Mid-Western Region from 1968 to 1971, as Commissioner for Finance and Establishment in the now-defunct Bendel State from 1972 to 1975, and as Commissioner for Information at the federal level beginning in 1975.
He later represented his region as a Senator from 1979 to 1983. Clark also vigorously promoted regional and national unity. He mediated conflicts among communities and political figures in the Niger Delta and recently set up a committee to reconcile Governor Siminalayi Fubara with his former political mentor, Nyesom Wike.
Former Akwa Ibom Governor Obong Victor Attah, who now serves as Co-Chairman of Pandef BOT, chaired the committee announced at the group’s special General Assembly in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on October 24, 2024.
