Businessman Found Dead with Multiple Stab Wounds in Obio/Akpor LGA

A 43-year-old businessman, Richard Nomanzi, who traded in metal scrap, has been found dead with multiple stab wounds in his residence in Ogbogoro community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The tragic discovery was made on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, after neighbors noticed a foul odor coming from his apartment and alerted the police and his relatives.

Eyewitnesses revealed that upon entering his residence, they found Nomanzi’s lifeless body with severe knife injuries.

Speaking to our Correspondent, a woman identified as Gift, the baby Mama of the deceased, expressed shock and grief over his brutal murder.

“I got a call around 3:15 p.m. while at my business premises. They asked if I knew Richard Chijioke Nomanzi, and I confirmed. They then told me to come to Ogbogoro.

“When I arrived, I saw his lifeless body in front of his door, he had stab wounds all over his face, and stomach, and a deep cut on his neck. With the help of the police, we moved his body to the mortuary. All I want now is justice for him and his child.”

A video seen by our correspondent confirmed multiple stab wounds on the deceased’s body.

The Rivers State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, has yet to respond to inquiries on the incident.

However, sources confirm that the case has been reported to the Ozuoba Police Division under the Choba Area Command.

Authorities are expected to launch a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding Nomanzi’s death.
