We Are Ready For Lobi Stars- Rivers United

The Pride of Rivers have assured fans that Nothing has changed towards their NPFL ambitions, Rivers United fans felt dismayed after the team’s loss last weekend at owerri.

Recall that Heartland Football Club of Owerri secured a thrilling victory over their rivals, Rivers United, in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Week 22 match held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday. The decisive goals from Captain Christian Molukwu and Joel Okoro in the 62nd and 74th minutes, respectively, propelled Coach Emmanuel Amuneke’s side to a well-deserved win, snapping a streak of two consecutive draws that had left their fervent supporters on edge.

This triumph marked a significant turning point for the Naze Millionaires, catapulting them from the lower rungs of the league table to the coveted Top 10 spot. Moreover, the win enabled Heartland to erase their deficit in goal difference, a welcome relief for the team.

Coach Emmanuel Amuneke’s leadership played a pivotal role in this victory, as he expertly guided his team to capitalize on the opportunity to climb out of the bottom half of the league table after 22 weeks of intense competition. Amuneke’s tactical acumen and experience, honed from his stints as the head coach of the Super Eagles and the FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning coach of the Golden Eaglets, have been instrumental in stabilizing the once-struggling Heartland FC.

Despite a shaky start to the 2024/2025 NPFL season, Heartland’s fortunes have been transformed under Amuneke’s guidance. However, a string of draws has prevented the team from realizing their full potential, leaving them poised just outside the top three spots in the league. Nevertheless, this victory over Rivers United serves as a testament to Heartland’s growing strength and resilience, and fans can expect an exciting second half of the season.

The loss against Heartland FC led to some calls by the fans to sack the gaffer of the team, Finidi George. But in a post on Social Media platform X the club has encouraged the fans by saying,

“THE TIME IS NOW!

Nothing has changed, our objective remains the SAME! We’re shifting gears and focusing on the next challenge: LOBI STARS!

One thing on our minds: GET OUR GROOVE BACK! We’re ready to put in the work and bring back the wins!”

We look forward to see if the Pride of Rivers can destroy Lobi stars in order to at least secure a continental spot.
