Woman Accuses Rivers Police of Assault, Command Pledges Thorough Investigation

A woman in Port Harcourt has come forward with serious allegations against officers of the Rivers State Police Command, claiming she was assaulted during an encounter on Evo Road.

Sharing her ordeal on social media, she described how four policemen allegedly used excessive force against her without provocation. According to her account, what began as a routine interaction escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving her deeply distressed.

The incident has sparked outrage online, with many condemning the alleged actions of the officers involved and calling for accountability. In response to the growing public concern, the Rivers State Police Command released an official statement addressing the allegations.

The Command acknowledged the report and urged the woman to visit the Police Headquarters to provide a formal complaint. This, they explained, would enable a thorough investigation to identify the officers involved and ensure appropriate disciplinary measures are taken.
