Oro-Abali Playground Unveiled: A New Hub for Recreation in Port Harcourt

A notable demonstration of commitment to the empowerment initiatives spearheaded by the Mayor of Port Harcourt City, Hon. Ezebunwo Ichemati, was showcased through the donation of ten million naira  by Chijioke Ihunwo, towards an empowerment scheme organized in honor of the late Nnamdi Wokekoro. This contribution highlights the dedication to improving the lives of residents in Port Harcourt City.

The donation was announced during the commissioning and handover ceremony of the Oro-Abali Community playground, where the donor appeared as a special guest representing Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison, the Chief of Staff of Rivers State Government House. The playground, donated by Mayor Ichemati, serves as a vital recreational facility for the Oro-Abali Community.

Speaking at the event, the representative emphasized the significance of public spaces in fostering social interaction, encouraging physical activity, and enhancing community cohesion.

They highlighted the playground’s role in providing a safe and welcoming environment for children to play and families to gather, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.

The representative also urged residents to continue praying for His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, and reiterated their confidence in Governor Fubara’s leadership. They affirmed the belief that the governor would successfully lead Rivers State for eight years, ensuring sustained progress and development.

This initiative shows the collective efforts of leaders and stakeholders in advancing community development and empowerment in Port Harcourt City.
