The O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation marked the beginning of 2025 with its highly anticipated annual New Year Party for the elderly. The event, held at the Biokpo Recreational Centre in Abonnema, gathered beneficiaries of the Foundation’s flagship Care for Life program alongside dignitaries, partners, and supporters.
Among the distinguished guests was the Foundation’s Chairman, Dr. Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs, whose heartfelt address emphasized the enduring mission of Care for Life—providing holistic support to elderly beneficiaries. “Our commitment to the elderly is lifelong,” she stated. “They become our mothers and fathers, and we care for them until the day the Lord calls them home.”
The lively celebration featured music, dancing, and creative activities like “sip and paint” sessions led by the elderly. Goodwill messages were delivered by key supporters, including Barr. Wogu Boms, a former Commissioner of Justice and Attorney-General of Rivers State, and representatives from the Red Cross Society.

Dr. Lulu-Briggs expressed deep appreciation for the Foundation’s dedicated team of caregivers, doctors, nurses, and volunteers, as well as spiritual supporters from the Chapel of God International Worship Center. “Their smiles, strength, and health are a testament to God answering your prayers,” she remarked.
The Care for Life program, which launched 24 years ago as the Foundation’s inaugural initiative, remains central to its mission. The program provides a range of services, from regular medical visits to personal caregiving, ensuring dignity and comfort for elderly beneficiaries. “This initiative reflects our philosophy of lifelong care, creating a family and community for our elders,” Dr. Lulu-Briggs noted.
The event also paid tribute to the late High Chief O. B. Lulu-Briggs, the Foundation’s visionary benefactor. Guests enjoyed vibrant performances by the Chapel of God International Church choir and capped off the day with lively dancing, filling the atmosphere with joy and gratitude.
Concluding the celebration, Dr. Lulu-Briggs offered a prayer and words of encouragement, urging attendees to embrace light and grace in the coming year. “May the Lord bless you, keep you, and grant you wisdom. His grace abounds—let us walk in His light and glorify His name.”
