As the Super Eagles of Nigeria step up their preparations for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 qualifiers, Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen has announced a 30-man squad to report to camp. The team is gearing up for a crucial two-legged qualifying fixture against their arch-rivals, Ghana’s Black Stars B.

The first leg of the qualifier is scheduled to take place on December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana, while the return leg will be held on December 28 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria. As the team prepares to face their Ghanaian counterparts, Coach Eguavoen has assembled a talented squad comprising a mix of seasoned players and young talents.

According to a statement released by Ademola Olajire, the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Head of Communications, the invited players are expected to arrive at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on Wednesday. Notable among the invitees is Kano Pillars’ veteran midfielder, Rabiu Ali, who has been in scintillating form this season, scoring an impressive eight goals.

The inclusion of Rabiu Ali, along with other experienced players, is expected to bring depth and stability to the team. Meanwhile, the young talents in the squad will be eager to prove themselves and stake a claim for a starting spot in the team. With the CHAN 2025 qualifiers just around the corner, the Super Eagles will be looking to fine-tune their preparations and make a strong statement against their Ghanaian opponents.

The CHAN tournament, now in its 8th edition, is unique in that it exclusively features footballers playing in their country’s domestic leagues and possessing standard contracts. This format provides a platform for home-based players to showcase their skills and compete against their peers from other African nations.

As the Super Eagles B prepare to face Ghana’s Black Stars B in the CHAN 2025 qualifiers, Coach Eguavoen will be relying on the experience and expertise of players like Rabiu Ali and Henry Ozoemena to guide the team through the challenges ahead.
