The annual competition, now in its fifth edition, serves as a platform to nurture young talents and reinforce MTN’s commitment to education. Speaking at the event, Obiageli Ugboma, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at MTN Nigeria applauded the exceptional dedication of the participants.

“This year, over 40,000 young spellers competed for the chance to stand here today. It is inspiring to see the incredible effort these 20 finalists have put in to make it this far,” Ugboma remarked. She emphasized MTN’s belief in empowering the next generation, adding, “Today isn’t just about winning; it’s about celebrating effort, resilience, and the role models these students have become for their peers.”

The second and third-place winners, Ayomide Ibigbemi and Munachimso Opara, were also celebrated with scholarships, laptops, and smartphones, underscoring MTN’s dedication to fostering educational excellence.

This year’s competition, which started in September, has not only celebrated academic excellence but also inspired young minds to strive for greatness, embodying MTN’s mission to empower the next generation of leaders and innovators.
