Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido, also known as David Adeleke, has expanded his reach into the sports world by launching his own football club, 30BG Sports Club.

The announcement came through Lagos Liga, a prominent Nigerian private football league, which shared the news on its Instagram page this past Wednesday.

The league revealed that Davido’s 30BG Sports Club is officially registered to compete in its upcoming season, where it will join 15 other teams in what promises to be a thrilling competition.

Lagos Liga expressed enthusiasm over Davido’s involvement, saying, “With Davido bringing his energy into Lagos Liga 2024, we have great assurance that if opponents are not careful, there is a timeless promise they could fall because this competition just got risky.”

Lagos Liga’s organizers are aiming to bring high-stakes matches for both non-professional and veteran football players alike. Set to kick off in December, the league has announced a prize of N50 million for the championship-winning team.

The official announcement post added, “THE WAIT IS OVER! Introducing 30BG Sports Club to Lagos Liga 2024. The 001 has landed. But will 30BG FC emerge victorious?”

This exciting development follows shortly after former Big Brother Naija star Tacha, formally known as Anita Natacha Akide, also acquired her own football club. .

In the early days of November, Lagos Liga previously teased this addition, posting, “New Lagos Liga club owner alert: Anita Natacha Akide. In short, the inimitable TACHA! @Symply_Tacha. Formal announcement to follow. Tacha FC is here.”

With these two high-profile figures entering the league, fans eagerly anticipate a season filled with intense matches and rivalries, bringing more excitement to Nigerian football.
