Grammy-winning artist Damini Ogulu, widely recognized as Burna Boy, recently advised his followers to avoid looking down on anyone, highlighting that anyone could rise to unexpected heights and even become “tomorrow’s Elon Musk.”
In an Instagram story shared on Saturday, Burna Boy revealed he has surpassed many Nigerian politicians and oil moguls he once admired in terms of wealth.
He used his own journey as an example to encourage fans not to underestimate younger generations or anyone they may perceive as less influential today.
Reflecting on his financial growth, the singer recounted how, during his upbringing, wealth seemed reserved for oil tycoons and politicians, followed by a few in less conventional careers. Music, he noted, wasn’t even seen as a serious path to wealth at that time.

“Imagine growing up and only oil men and politicians were the ones really getting the real money, followed by the G boys. Music wasn’t even in the conversation when money was the topic,” he shared.
Now, he proudly acknowledges how far he has come. “Now an ugly black musician from Port Harcourt got more money than 90% of the people he looked up to as money makers,” he remarked, emphasizing his achievement and the changing landscape of success in Nigeria.
In a landscape where the paths to success have evolved, Burna Boy’s words serve as a reminder of the potential that lies within each person, regardless of their current circumstances.
