Computer-Based WASSCE Exams Commence This Friday

West African Examinations Council Announces 2024 Second Series Exam Dates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially announced the dates for the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates, 2024 – Second Series. This highly anticipated examination will commence on Friday, October 25, and conclude on Friday, December 20, 2024.

To ensure candidates are well-prepared, WAEC has provided essential information regarding the examination:

  • Registration Period: Extended to Tuesday, October 29, 2024

  • Examination Mode: Hybrid mode, combining on-screen multiple-choice questions and paper-based essay and practical questions

  • Alternative Option: Paper and Pen mode available for candidates who prefer it

  • Walk-in-Candidate Opportunity: Available for candidates who register 24 hours before their chosen paper

  • Timetable: Final timetable available for download on the WAEC Nigeria website

WAEC has adopted a hybrid mode for delivering the examination, offering flexibility and convenience to candidates. The format includes:

  • Objective or multiple-choice questions rendered on-screen, with candidates responding on-screen

  • Essay and practical questions rendered on-screen, with candidates responding using answer booklets provided

  • Option for candidates to use Paper and Pen mode for the entire examination

  • WAEC e-Study platform: Access comprehensive study materials and interactive tools

  • WAEC Past Questions and Answers books: Enhance preparation with authentic question banks
