Dr. Onya backs Iyekor Ikporo for Ahoada West Chairmanship, commends his dedication

By Tina Amanda

A prominent stakeholder in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, Dr. Reason Onya, has publicly endorsed Iyekor Ikporo as the Action People’s Party (APP) flag bearer for the upcoming local government election.

Onya emphasized that Ikporo’s candidacy represents a transformational opportunity for the people of Ahoada West while highlighting his leadership qualities.

Onya described Ikporo as a “dedicated young man embedded with humility” and expressed confidence in his ability to bring about significant development in the region.

He affirmed that Ikporo possesses the qualities necessary to elevate Ahoada West among the 23 LGAs in Rivers State and across Nigeria’s 774 LGAs.

“Iyekor Ikporo is a serious-minded, dedicated, and articulate young man who has what it takes to take Ahoada West to where it will be respected in the community of the 23 LGAs of Rivers State and 774 LGAs in the federation, I am highly convinced that he will not disappoint.

“So the people in Ahoada West will taste the good leadership that he will bring to his administration as the Chairman of Ahoada West, after the October 5, 2024, LGA election by God’s grace.

“I congratulate you, Ikporo, and believe you will steer Ahoada West toward greatness,” Onya said.

Reflecting on their past collaboration, Onya recalled Ikporo’s role as his polling agent during his 2011 House of Representatives bid and the support Ikporo’s father offered, despite facing opposition from the then Paramount Ruler of Ekpeye. “I will not forget those who stood by me,” Onya said, pledging to rally support for Ikporo’s victory.

“In 2011 when I ran for the House of Representatives, he was my polling Agent and his father was my major supporter who was dethroned by the then Paramount Ruler of Ekpeye because of the support he gave to me.

“How would I have forgotten all these. I will use the political machinery within me in collaboration with other leaders of the LGA to ensure that Iyekor Ikporo emerges victoriously”.

He urged the electorate to conduct themselves peacefully during the October 5, 2024, election, expressing optimism about Ikporo’s success and potential to deliver an administration grounded in humility, dedication, and careful leadership.
