The people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State have been assured that they will experience best years after October 5 which implies after the forthcoming local government election in the state.
The politician who gave the assurance is a humanitarian philanthropist, Hon. Seineri Onengiyeofori George who is vying for the ward one councillorship seat in the LGA.
The aspirant had empowered countless youths, men, and women in the area before he decided to run for election in the area and had told his people that greater empowerment would come after his victory on October 5.
According to him, it is good to empower one’s people as I did for my people long before I thought of contesting an election and it pays off to help people.
“I have been helping my people in so many ways especially the needy, and the less privileged because of the deep love I have for my people.
“I never thought of running for political office, they urged me to contest this election, promising their overwhelming votes for me at the ballot.
“When the choice of the political party to use came up, they said any party I choose, they would still vote for me and after careful analysis of the various eligible political parties, the party to beat is Accord which I am using to contest.
“The reason for which I am in this race is to draw government closer to the people through effective legislative engagement with the executive to make sure my people keep experiencing the better life they deserve during and after my tenure as councilor when I win,” he said.
Despite attempts to frustrate the October 5 election date through litigations, the state electoral umpire, RSIEC had maintained that the election would commence as scheduled.
There are doubts if the two major political parties in the state and country, the PDP and the APC will do well in the poll as both parties are yet to resolve the internal conflicts draining the strength of the parties.
