Slain 2Baba’s boys are still disturbing Ahoada with assault rifles – Says youth leader

By Mark Lenu

Months after the killing of a notorious cult leader, David Okpara popularly known as 2Baba by security agents in the Ahoada axis of Rivers State, his boys who escaped death are still disturbing the area.

The outspoken Public Relations Officer of Igbu Akoh Youth Congress of Ahoada, Comrade Ekeakita Hector Chinem told our correspondent that the likes of Uche Okpara and Easter Okorogba are the ones threatening the peace that the area has been enjoying after the death of 2Baba.

2Baba was declared wanted by the state government with a bounty placed on him for killing the former Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada, SP Bako Angbashim in 2023. 2Baba was eventually killed at his hideout in Ahoada during a Joint operation carried out by the police and other security agencies.

The youth PRO said: “The current security situation in Ahoada is cool and calm except for the cult gangs of 2Baba now led by Uche Okpara A.K.A Odogwu and Easter Okorogba A.K.A Apaka who are still parading the area with AK-47 and G3 assault rifles.

“The two leaders and their groups were the ones that escaped death during the killing of David Opara A.K.A 2Baba by security operatives. These two gangs have not learned from what happened to 2Baba and they have come to the area to terrorize people again.

“I would like the security agents to put up more effort and also send a patrol team to the Akoh axis and other adjoining areas in Ahoada and make sure these two gang leaders are apprehended.

“The people of the area should also put up a call across to security agents whenever they see the gang members in the area and those who are giving them cover should desist forthwith.”
