Fubara and Other PDP Governors Meet in Enugu

The PDP Governors Forum, comprising 13 governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, convened in Enugu on Wednesday.

Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and Senator Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the Forum and governor of Bauchi State, were among the first to be welcomed by the host and governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah. He also welcomed other governors as they arrived at the Government House to register their presence including Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Umo Eno of Akwa-Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, and Ahmed Fintiri of Adamawa. Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and his Bayelsa State counterpart, Senator Douye Diri, were expected to join the meeting later.

Although the meeting’s agenda was not public knowledge, it is anticipated that the forthcoming party congresses, Edo and Ondo governorship elections, internal power tussles facing the PDP, and the state of the nation will be the primary focus of discussions.

Established on February 24, 2013, during the tenure of former President and Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, the PDP Governors’ Forum serves as a platform for governors to share ideas, knowledge, and experiences on advancing the party and coordinating programs and policies in their respective states. In the evening, the host governor, Dr. Mbah, organized a cultural night in honor of the visiting governors.
