Chima Wins Nigerian Idol Season 9

Chima emerged as the Nigerian Idol Season 9 winner and closed a strong battle for the throne this season. Being intelligent and having a very good voice, Chima’s stay on the show has been quite inspiring. Moreover, personal difficulties were left behind and music became the backbone and hope during the most desperate hours turning the man into a model for others.

The season which started on April 21, 2024, on Africa Magic stations was characterized by audition and selection that called young talents from all over Nigeria. The contestants underwent several challenges, namely, group and solo performances during the theatre rounds and weekly performances during the semi-finals and the live show. As for this season’s judges, Nigerian singers Omawumi, Ric Hassani, and 9ice were quite helpful, giving useful tips to the participants.

Out of all participants Chima, Lammy, and Chioma were the three best performers. This was complemented with Chima’s amazing performances which were; Darey Art Alade’s “Not the Girl” and Stevie Wonder’s “As”. His last dances made with the Selah choir were least expected and he was declared the winner. Lammy and Chioma equally danced to the music while singing, Lammy performing “Hallelujah” originally by Leonard Cohen and Chioma singing” One Night Only “by Jennifer Hudson.

Chima could only have been produced by talent and hard work hence deserves the win. He now become among the trending voices that have in the past emerged as winners of reality shows such as Mercy Chinwo, Moses Obi Adigwe, and Kingdom Kroseide among others. The incentives offered to the winner consist of a large cash reward, a brand new SUV, and a record deal in the music industry among others; this enhances Chima’s promising music career
