ALGON Drums Support For Fubara, Commends Appeal Court’s Judgment

The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) has hailed the Appeal’s court judgment that dismissed both appeals lodged by the Pro-Wike members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Amb. Marvin Yobana, a spokesperson for the ALGON issues a statement commending the Appeal court for protecting the Constitution by upholding justice within the South-South state.

The Association would go on to appeal to the Rivers people to continue to support the sitting Governor of the state, Siminilayi Fubara, following his peace-leaning approach and earnest push for growth within his sphere of influence.

It bears mentioning that Amb. Yobana later appealed to Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, to order the immediate evacuation of his men from council secretariats.

He said “I want to sincerely commend the Appeal Court for upholding justice and protecting the Federal Constitution of Nigeria. The Court of Appeal has shown to Rivers people and the world that it is the defender of the truth, the last hope of the common man, and the bastion of justice in the country.

“What we expect now from the Inspector General of Police is to enforce the court judgment by withdrawing all his men from the local government councils as anything short of this could and would lead to the breakdown of law and order, which is what we all are trying to avoid all these while.

“We are appealing to the Inspector General of Police to ensure that the Police are not biased, rather they should respect, uphold and enforce the court’s judgment by tactically withdrawing all the Policemen from all the councils. Anything short of this is regarded as disobedient to the rule of law,” Yobana said
