The non-governmental organization Simplified Movement has called on the people of Rivers State to support the administration of Governor Sim Fubara, regardless of their political affiliations.

Leader of the Simplified Movement, Dr. Chidi Orlu, who stated this while expanding it’s leadership structure at Ward 2 Isiokpo, Ikwerre local Government Area of the State, emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in fostering the development and progress of the state.

According to him, Governor’s Fubara success cut across all the political parties, noting that good governance is not about PDP or any other political party affair but a collective effort.

“We are happy with what he has done so far, the good governance, peaceful disposition, he has made everything possible to achieve peace despite all the provocations coming from all angles.

“We are interested in protecting, projecting and defending policies of the governor because we recognize that there can not be two governor’s in the state at the same time. He is the governor elected by the people, having been elected by the people he is nolonger a man’s candidate but people’s candidate and people’s candidate.

“Isiokpo Ward 2 leadership decided to expand our leadership structure to be able to take the leadership closer to the people we decided to inaugurate the ward exco, the chapter exco’s, women, youth and Elder leaderships.

“We have already achieved a lot, the essence of the movement is to give governor the courage to know that he is not standing alone, the masses are with him. We try to sensitize other members of the communities and the state to ensure good governance is in place, we do not have two governor’s, we do not have choice than to support the governor.

“The duty of every citizen is to support the government of the day and that is what the NGO is all about.

“We must understand that political groups are there to ensure they are part of government and benefit from government as long as human is concern. The difference between you and I is our level of greed, as long as the greed is there you can not have one hundred percent peace in any political structure.

“In simplified movement we have people from all parties is nolonger a PDP affair it cut across all strata’s, tribes and religion in Rivers State. To that extent we have achieved unity of purpose, but you can not rule out the possibility of opposition.

“Opposition is allowed, but we are more interested in constructive opposition not the one that will destroy. Not opposition that will make sure the governor goes out, let the opposition be on things that the governor will do to take the state to greater heights and greater level that is the of opposition we want”.

Leader of the Simplified Movement in Ward 2 Isiokpo, Comrade Agba Timothy, said the organization have stood behind Governor to resist every impeachment plan against him.

“People stood behind Governor Sim when the crisis started the movement is among the person’s. We followed up the state Assembly matter, also assisted the governor to make sure he resist the impeachment movement that was carried out by twenty-seven (27) House Assembly members, we have been very supportive to the governor.

“I want to encourage every Rivers man to join this Simplified Movement, because it is a group an NGO that have come to stay and make sure good governance exist in Rivers State.

“For now it cut across all parties so long as you believe in Sim and what Sim is doing for the Rivers people. It is the first time Civil servants are collecting one hundred thousand naira Christmas bonus, we are supporting that government”.
