JAMB CAPS Essential for Streamlined Admission Process in all Higher Institutions

In a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency of admission processes, Gerard University of Medical Sciences, located in Imope-Ijebu, Ogun state, has elaborated the importance of collaboration with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor ‘Niran Adetoro, emphasized this during the institution’s inaugural matriculation ceremony, which was held recently.

During his address at the ceremony, Professor Adetoro highlighted the major role of JAMB CAPS in ensuring a seamless and transparent admission process for tertiary institutions across Nigeria. He acknowledged the institution’s commitment to achieving its educational objectives and fostering an environment conducive to learning. Central to this commitment is the principle of inclusivity, with the university aiming to provide educational opportunities to individuals from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of race, creed, sex, or political and religious affiliations.

The Vice-Chancellor pointed out that a well-organized admission process is essential for the realization of the institution’s vision of providing higher and liberal education. He emphasized that without proper admission procedures, the opportunity for educational advancement would be compromised. Professor Adetoro expressed his gratitude to the management of JAMB for their support and collaboration, acknowledging their significant contributions to facilitating the smooth establishment and commencement of operations at Gerard University.

In response to Professor Adetoro’s remarks, the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, conveyed his congratulations to Gerard University on the occasion of its maiden matriculation ceremony. Although unable to attend the event in person, Professor Oloyede was represented by Hakeem AbdulHameed, the Ogun State Coordinator of JAMB. In his message, Professor Oloyede commended the university for its commitment to academic excellence and encouraged the institution to prioritize adherence to the JAMB CAPS system.

AbdulHameed, speaking on behalf of Professor Oloyede, urged the pioneer students of Gerard University to prioritize their academic pursuits above all other matters. He emphasized the importance of setting a positive example for future generations of students and encouraged the inaugural cohort to uphold the values of diligence, dedication, and integrity in their studies.

The endorsement of JAMB CAPS by Gerard University reflects a broader need towards the adoption of technology-driven solutions to streamline administrative processes in Nigerian institutions. As the university embarks on its journey to academic excellence, its commitment to collaboration with JAMB CAPS proves its dedication
