The Anambra State Police Command says it has arrested suspects concerning the killing of one Miss Chinyere Awuda by a group of friends.
Awuda from Nnobi, in Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was found dead and corpse-dumbed at the abandoned swimming pool of Cosmila Hotel Awka, Anambra State after she was assaulted by one Mr Gabriel Chinemere and his friends.
It was gathered that the deceased was attacked by Mr Gabriel at Club Mila, a nightclub owned by Cosmila Hotels in Awka, on Saturday.
Eyewitnesses said despite efforts made by other people in the club to rescue her, her attackers continued beating and molesting the deceased.
According to the eyewitnesses, the club manager, Steven Junior, asked the club security guards and bouncers to stand down and turn off the lights as the deceased was being beaten and dragged outside the club.
Her lifeless body was later dumped inside an abandoned swimming pool belonging to the Cosmila Hotel.
Speaking on the development, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesman of the state police command, confirmed the incident.
He said the suspects were already in police custody while the investigation is ongoing.
