The Rivers State Police Command has foiled a planned attack on Odiemude Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area on Thursday, 22 June 2023.
According to the report, the suspected cultists, led by a notorious Cultist aka 2baba and his men, were planning to attack Odiemude Community in Ahoada East LGA when the residents informed the Police.
The Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada and his men stormed the cultist hideout, but 2baba and his men narrowly escaped through the waterways.
Speaking in an interview Public Relations Officer of AKoh Kingdom, Ahoada East, Hector Chinem, told our Correspondent that before now, the Police could not storm the criminals’ hideout.
He commended the effort of the Commissioner of Police and officers of the Ahoada Police Division for the feat so far.
He, however, encouraged the Local Government Area Chairman of Ahoada East and West to support the Police DPOs in the two LGAs to eliminate criminals from the communities.
The Rivers State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe Koko, has confirmed the incident, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
