IYC describes Asari’s visit on Tinubu as good thing for Kalabari people

By Brave Dickson

The Kalabari wing of the Ijaw Youth Council has described the recent visit of Alhaji Dokubo Asari on President Bola Tinubu as a sign of good things to come in Kalabari and Ijaw lands.

Asari who firmly supported the presidential ambition of Tinubu had on Friday visited the president behind closed doors at the State House. Abuja.

The Chairman, IYC Kalabari Se – Ikpangi, Comrade Edward Asikitams told our correspondent that their leader (Asari) can not vouch for someone who does not have the requisite capacity to salvage the economic and security challenges of the country.

“From the time he (Asari) gave his words to Ijaw and Niger Delta people in general to support Bola Tinubu for presidency, Kalabari people and other Ijaws massively came out to vote and to ensure that Tinubu emerges winner in our region.

“The visit on President Tinubu by Asari on Friday at the State House is another testament that better things will happen to Kalabari and Ijaw lands.

“Asari from time immemorial has always believed that our environment should be freed from oil theft and criminality.

“This visit will bring a new change and hope to the Niger Delta people.

“The few weeks that the president has been in office are another testament that Tinubu means well for Nigeria. Look at the dollar rate to naira, it has changed. The economy has turned drastically for good.

“So, we believe that the relationship our principal (Asari) has with Mr president will bring the dividends of democracy to Kalabari people who are major stakeholders in the oil and gas industry.

“And so we pray that God should help in sustaining the relationship between Asari and Tinubu for the good of our people and the entire country at large,” Asikitams said.
