Police kill serial kidnappers in Rivers

A criminal gang leader, Onuigwe Nwodi, who has been terrorising the Emohua axis of the East-west road, has been killed by police officers attached to the Rivers State Police Command.

Also killed were three other gang members.

Photos of his corpse and three other gang members flooded the internet on Tuesday.

According to the report, Mr Nwodi was killed in Okrika during a gun duel with the police.

Nwodi and members of his gang group have been fingered in armed robbery and kidnapping activities along the Emohua axis of the East-west road.

Sources said Nwodi was responsible for the recent kidnap of Justice Azunda, the chief protocol officer to the former Chief of staff Emeka Woke Isiodu community.

Chidi Lloyd, the chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, had imposed two million naira for information leading to his arrest.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, did not respond to inquiries for comments as of the time of filing this report.
