The All Progressives Congress APC has described as untrue the news circulating on social media over the sack of its South-South Vice Chairman Victor Giadom and the Secretary
The South-South Zonal Publicity Secretary of APC Dave Okumgba in a statement said no Zonal Exco member of the party is under suspension.
The statement further clarified that the Zonal Executives did not have any meeting to resolve or decide to suspend any officer of the Zonal Exco.
Dave Okumgba said that the Constitution of the APC 2022 (as amended) is an instrument powerful enough to deal with all internal party matters not the least those canvassed by the signatories to the strange communiqué which never passed the test of the party’s Constitution.
He said that the news item being circulated and sensationalized is the handiwork of enemies of the party.
The Full Statement
RE: APC SACKS GIADOM, UDOSEN AS SOUTH-SOUTH ZONAL CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY
Our attention has been drawn to the well-choreographed misinformation and disinformation spreading on social media and even quite surprisingly, the mainstream media over the above subject matter.
Nothing can be farther from the truth as democratic ethos negates the application of Gestapo-styled takeovers and or appointments.
The Constitution of the APC 2022 (as amended) is an instrument powerful enough to deal with all internal party matters not the least those canvassed by the signatories to the strange communique which to the best of our knowledge, NEVER passed the test of Article 21.3(i)-(vi) of our party’s Constitution.
Therefore, we want to state without equivocation that we view what is being circulated and sensationalized as the handiwork of enemies of our party and an article for comic relief as it does not fall within the intendment of Article 21 of our Constitution.
For the avoidance of doubt, at no time did the Zonal Executives meet to resolve or decide to suspend any officer of the Zonal Exco. Therefore, no Zonal Exco is under suspension.
Signed:
Hon Dave Okumgba
South-South Zonal Publicity Secretary
