Drivers protest killing of colleague by task force in Port Harcourt

Members of the Rivers State task force on illegal parking have killed a commercial driver in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The killing led to commercial drivers staging a protest in Rumuokoro of the LGA.

It was gathered that the driver was killed by the state task force members following a disagreement over a transportation ticket.

Speaking on the development, the chairman of bus drivers plying Mile 3 to Ikoku axis, Okechukwu Rufus said that the task force is in a habit of harassing the drivers.

He said that after the task force operatives brutalized the driver, he died on Monday morning in the hospital.

The chairman, therefore, called on the state government to look into it the situation and proffer a solution to it.
