Rivers: Gunmen attack TV, radio stations owned by Atiku’s supporter

Gunmen on Tuesday attacked a popular Radio Station, Wish FM 99.5 and the Atlantic Television Network located in the Ozuoba community of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The incident occurred around 8:40 pm with explosive devices suspected to be dynamite greeting the premises of the facility belonging to the House of Representatives member representing Port Harcourt constituency, Chinyere Igwe.

It was gathered that the dynamite was thrown into the generator house of the facility while sporadic bullets were shot into the office of the chairman, Igwe.

Igwe is a staunch supporter of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Igwe who confirmed the attack said he was happy that no life was lost.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command is yet to react to the incident.
