One Kenneth Nnadozie and nine others have been arraigned in a Magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt on six counts of alleged conspiracy, housebreaking, stealing, unlawful gathering, riotous assembly malicious damage of a commercial bank around Borokiri axis of Port Harcourt local government area of the state.
The suspects were reported to have on 17 February 2023, invaded a commercial bank along Churchill street, Borokiri axis of Port Harcourt, stolen, and damaged it in a riotous assembly in the guise of protesting for the scarcity of naira notes.
When the count charges were read before the suspects, they pleaded not guilty to the charges, and Counsels representing them argued on their bail application.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Rita Ogugua after listening to counsels in the matter, adjourned to 20 February 2023 for bail consideration and directed that the suspects be sent to Correctional Center Port Harcourt.
Our correspondent reports that Chief Magistrate Rita Ogugua, however, granted bail to another set of eight suspects charged with the same six counts bothering on conspiracy, housebreaking, stealing, unlawful gathering, riotous Assembly malicious damage of a commercial bank who are between the ages of sixteen below.
