INEC to train adhoc staff from Tuesday February 14 in Rivers

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Rivers State has announced that it will begin the training of its ad-hoc staff in the category of presiding and assistant presiding officers from Tuesday 14th to Thursday 16th February 2023.

A statement signed by the commission’s state HOD, Voter Education and Publicity, Mark Usulor on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner also fixed 9am each day as the training time.

The statement read: This is to inform all those who applied to serve as presiding officers (PO) and assistant presiding officers (APO) in Rivers State and were successfully screened by INEC that the training of this category of ad-hoc staff will hold at the 23 LGAs from Tuesday 14th to Thursday 16th of February, 2023.

“They should therefore report at the LGAs where they indicated to serve with their acknowledgement slip and a valid means of identification.

“Time for the training is 9 am each day.”.

It is imperative to note that the training is part of INEC’s preparations for the February 25 national and March 11 state elections.
