Police arrest 3 suspected cultists in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command says it has arrested three suspected members of a cult group terrorizing communities in Ogoniland.

The suspects were arrested by men of the anti-cultism unit of the command following a tip-off from Gure community in Khana Local Government Area of the State.

In a statement on Wednesday, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Grace Iringe-Koko said the operation was conducted on January 9th when the police officers raided the camp of the cult gang.

According to the statement, those arrested include one Myimaka Only, Junior Mbo, and Kensuanu Loveday who is said to be the executioner for the cult gang.

She noted that a locally made pistol was recovered from the suspects during the raid.

Iringe-Koko said the suspects will be charged to court after investigations while reaffirming the command’s commitment to reducing crime and criminality to the barest minimum.
