The independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State says it will from Friday devolve the collection of PVCs to various registration areas/wards across the state.
The state INEC HOD, Voter Education & Publicity, Mark Usulor who made the announcement on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner said the devolution exercise will last till Sunday, January 15, 2023.
A copy of the press statement which was sent to our correspondent from the state INEC office quoted the commission as saying that, ” the INEC in Rivers State wishes to inform the public that the collection of Permanent Voters Cards(PVCs) will be devolved to the Registration Areas/Wards from Friday January 6, 2023 till Sunday January 15, 2023.
“Thereafter, we will revert to the INEC LGA offices from the16th to 22nd January 2023.
“Those that are unable to collect their PVCs at the LGA offices of the Commission can do so at the Registration Areas/Wards.
“We therefore wish to appeal to all stakeholders to provide a peaceful and enabling environment for our staff to successfully discharge this exercise at the 319 Registration Areas/Wards in Rivers State within the stipulated period.”
