Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has nominated his Ebonyi counterpart, Dave Umahi for the conferment of State Honours as the Grand Service Star of Rivers State ( GSSRS).
The letter of the nomination dated October 24 was conveyed to the Governor of Ebonyi State in the hands and seals of the Governor of Rivers State.
Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji, the Ebonyi Commissioner for Information and State Orientation in a statement on Friday, said the Governor’s Distinguished Award from the Government of Rivers State is in recognition of his examplary life achievements, outstanding contributions to the advancement of national cohesion, equity and justice and his invaluable leadership dispositions to the Government and people of Rivers State.
“The Governor of Rivers State who acted pursuant to his powers under the Rivers State Honours Law ,2017 approved the conferment of the Star Honours to be accordingly conferred to the people’s Governor on a date to be communicated in due course”
